Madhusudan Das, popularly known as “Madhu Bhai” in the state of Odisha and India as a whole. Madhu Bhai hails from Purusotampur, Lalitgiri, a tribeni sangam of three districts of Odisha like Cuttack, Jajpur and Kendrapara. After his birth, his grandfather named him as Madhusudan Das and always inspired him to be like Madhu babu by saying “you will also dedicate yourself for the state of Odisha as Madhu babu did”. From his early childhood, it was noticed by the neighbors that he is going to be a dedicated social workers of the state. He was very active with NSS during his college days.

As the days passed, he came in contact with eminent Gandhian and Sarvodaya leader Dr. S.N. Subbarao (Bhai Jee) and this was a new turning point of his life altogether! His association with Bhai Jee started becoming very closer and meaningful in course of time. During the historic All India Rail Yatra led by Bhai Jee was coordinated by this young guy of Odisha in nineties. He proved his leadership by coordinating meaningfully to this national level initiative for peace and social harmony. Besides, he has done remarkable voluntary work for restoration of peace in many riot affected areas of the country. He has served the office of the Common Wealth as the Ambassador for south Asia.

Similarly, his journey for building peace and restoring social harmony is an example for millions in the world. Madhu bhai is an excellent poet, composer and singer of the state of Odisha. His song “Biswa Bijayee Naujawan” has been echoing in several youth camps across the state. So also, he has composed and sang beautiful songs on voluntarism, youth leadership and motivations to the youths. His motivational talk followed by beautiful songs and slogans have been thrilling the young minds in the youth camps of NYP, NSS, Red Cross, NYKS, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guide and such many others in the country.

To his credit, he has been one of the key persons to facilitate national, international and regional level youth leadership and national integration camps of NYP across the country of India and other countries of the world. As a key associate of Bhai Jee, he travels the globe to organize Gandhi Peace camps to spread the message of truth, non-violence and brotherhood. He has contributed his activities for peace building in the countries like Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Srilanka, Nepal, America and so many other boundaries of the World. His tireless journey for NYP turned him with the most responsible position of “National Trustee” for NYP in the country.

He stands to be a torch bearer for many in the field of disaster response. He has contributed immensely in the field of relief services staring from super cycle-1999 to Phyline and Hoodhood in the state of Odisha. Apart from this, he has created his incomparable figure in providing inspirational and mesmerizing talk to the youths of colleges and universities. His inspirational talks on blood donation have been helping the state to get rid of the shortage of blood in the blood banks of the state. He stands to be an outstanding spirit in the fields of Nasha Mukti, plantation and women empowerment. He has been an advisor to the department of Sports and Youth Services, government of Odisha, State NSS cell of Odisha and such many.

As a remarkable job, he has founded a voluntary organization named “Abhiyan” in his own village near Balichandrapur which has connected the local women with earning opportunities. Women of his localities have been connected to stitching machines to earn livelihood with full dignity. So also, he has initiated a centre for youth here too. Hundreds of voluntary organizations have honored him so far for his selfless and dedicated services to humanity. His whole life has become an inspiration for the youths of the country and World!
